Before
After

Recently completed outdoor entertaining area transformation from the team at Aussie Outdoor Living! A barely useable space at any time of the year. Although the space did have its challenges, Chris designed the perfect solution that ticked all the boxes! Featuring an angled insulated pavilion pergola with custom fans and LED down lights, an aluminium clad wall with a built in bench. Our sister company Aussie Outdoor Blinds & Screens installed a motorised blind that stops the wind, rain and protects the area. What a massive difference it makes!

Gary & Sandra – Mount Colah

Our lovely clients from Mount Colah first came to our showroom to view our decking range. Having showed them the aluminium product and explained the benefits over hardwood and other alternatives, they were sold on the ‘Low Maintenance’ aspect of the product.

Chris arranged an on-site consultation with Gary & Sandra and discussed the few areas of decking and stairs that needed replacing to ensure it was 100% safe as they have young grandchildren, and that the areas tied in nicely throughout the property.

Featuring our low maintenance aluminium decking, stairs, handrail and privacy screening and an aluminium framed polycarbonate pergola. These are the areas that we covered:

  • The main aluminium deck area to the rear of the house was a whopping 10 m long x 4 m wide with Colorbond handrail and a matching aluminium top rail, and built with treated pine framing underneath.
  • The upper level aluminium deck with stairs and wall railing features a sloping polycarbonate pergola, aluminium slatted screening to box in that end of the deck with matching aluminium privacy screening to both ends of the two decks.
  • Another area required was a decked walkway between the garage and main house, with a lockable aluminium slatted gate, a stair case leading up to the front of the property and a low profile deck to another entry point at the front of the house.
  • Another decked landing area, stair case and slatted privacy screening leading to the ‘main entrance’. Chris designed every aspect and ensured every box was ticked, and need was covered. Our team demolished the old decks and stairs and meticulously built the new structures.

Some kind words from our clients:

“A big, big job, led by Ben at the site, that we regard as outstanding in every way. The team was punctual and cleaned the site up at the end of each day. The admin side of the job also functioned very smoothly. A well ‘oiled’ process that was very impressive.”

Stephen & Samantha – Cherrybrook

Can’t recommend them highly enough. Excellent planning – we took about 18 months to decide and no hassling in the meantime. The crew were lovely, totally self contained (they even brought their own microwave) the job was completed in the time they said it would be and everyone who has seen it so far comments on the quality finish. They aren’t cheap. but we’ve seen other cheap jobs that look rough after a couple of years. You get what you pay for and this will look good for years to come. It’s transformed a North facing boiling backyard into a great living space and added value to our home.

Phil & Dianne – Lane Cove

What a difference using the right materials makes! Our clients in Lane Cove had built a polycarbonate pergola which made the area extremely hot in summer and was not suited to their leafy location and aspect. The spotted gum deck had started to cup, warp and fade. With no other option to replace the entire thing! We utilised as much as space as we could which maximised their indoor/outdoor living and entertaining area.

Using an insulated roof pergola we were able to angle and span the whole area and add extra insulation which will cool that whole end of the house down. A beautiful aluminium deck was fitted so they had a seamless transition from indoor to out, aluminium screening for privacy and a double sided aluminium clad wall for their new BBQ to go against. Also fitted on all 5 sides were electric blinds which turns the whole area into a comfortable and usable room all year round!

Alison – Castle Hill

“Being new to Australia we didn’t know where to find a decent company to completely redesign and rebuild our outdoor living area. Many firms were disinterested in our project and had an ‘it’s all too difficult’ attitude. Chris from Aussie Outdoor Living was different. He was friendly and enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude about our Job from the onset and helped us with design ideas and tips. Unlike other companies, he also said he could supply and fit our new glass pool fence. Ben and Brad, the two carpenters who undertook most of the work were an absolute pleasure to have onsite for four weeks. They were good-natured and courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were perfectionists who took real pride in their work. The whole team at Aussie Outdoor Living from Chris the owner, to Matt the Construction Manager and the boys who do the actual building work were fantastic from start to finish. They’re genuinely nice guys and I can’t thank them enough for transforming my pool area. Chris promised me the wow factor and he delivered it. I thoroughly recommend this company.”

WINNER FOR THE 2016 HILLS BUILDING AND DESIGN AWARDS

“Aussie Outdoor Living has transformed our outdoor area by installing an aluminium deck and pergola to the point that after 4 months we are still in awe of the transformation.

From our first meeting at our home to the final conclusion we were constantly reassured by a highly professional, friendly and talented team. From the initial design from Chris, to a visit to the show room to help visualise the potential and through to the construction we have not had a more satisfying experience from a builder.
We were especially impressed with the building team. Ever polite, they arrived on time, always left the site clean and tidy and had an attitude that nothing we asked for was a problem. They are true craftsman who are proud of their work and believe in producing the highest quality while actually making the experience enjoyable for the client.”

Ken & Helen – Baulkham Hills

“Aussie Outdoor Living replaced my old balcony. It was rotted and needed replacing but for over a year we tried to find someone that could get through the council paperwork and build something that we wanted. Chris from Aussie was the only person who understood our requirements to build a sustainable maintenance free balcony that looked good and would stand the depths of time. The team organised plans, council approval, set a timeframe that was suitable to all of us and actually delivered and built to that timeframe. Amazing to find builders that deliver what they say and were cheerful, friendly and cleaned up at the end. The end product was better than we had actually hoped for when we started and has made an immense improvement to the street appeal of our house. the boys were terrific. They worked hard to get the job done and had a very professional standard that they adhered to. I would not hesitate to recommend Aussie Outdoor Living to anyone wanting a first class job. Regards, Ken & Helen – Baulkham Hills”

Peter & Patricia – Kings Langley

“I was in the market for a new pergola. I asked three companies for a quote and none turned up. So I looked further and found “Aussie Outdoor Living” and went along to the showroom. It was then I realised I didn’t want a pergola, I wanted an Outdoor Living Area. They had the STYLE I could only dream about and the quality of workmanship I HAD to have. No need to look any further. After I accepted the quote everything was done for me, plans, council approval, site inspections, reports etc. The workmen arrived and worked continually till the job was finished. The quality of the work is exceptional, every angle, every mitre, every joint and every row of rivets were precisely measured, fixed AND colour coded. The standard of work is nothing short of excellent and MAINTENANCE FREE. Great job guys, many thanks. It has changed the way we live.”

Marco & Bernadette – Kellyville

“What a pleasure to have dealt with such a professional outfit. We were in desperate need to create an outdoor living area, mainly just to improve our quality of life. We had some idea of what we wanted but weren’t completely sure of what we would of be able to do with the area we had. We knew the pergola was going to be the main structure and we wanted it done right! Out of the 3 quotes we received, one stood out. Chris from Aussie outdoor living….

Quite a few reasons they stood out and they are as follows.
1. He showed up for the quote exactly when he said he would. Not too common these days.
2. But not only did we receive a quote, we received a detailed insight on material choices and the pros and cons of each choice, we received multiple roofing structure options as well as suggestions from his own experience on what would work best for us and the reasons why. He even gave us his own opinion/vision on the entire area which was great as we weren’t completely there with the whole plan. It gave us some ideas and things we hadn’t thought of. We could tell he was very passionate about what he does and it was quite refreshing to see.
3. Once the choice was made he gave us a timeline as well as a very detailed structure of how everything worked, what was to be done and what materials and colours were going to be used. No hidden fine print.
4. Every step was followed to a tee! They even took care of organising the building drawing plans and all council applications forms.
5. Communication was top notch through the entire process. The materials were delivered on time and work commenced without delay.
6. The boys showed up and were very professional in their approach. They were polite and took no shortcuts. Every aspect of the build was followed exactly to specification and done very professionally. Quality of work was exceptional. Once the pergola was completed, they did a final inspection as part of their process, and to my surprise they even made some small improvements that weren’t necessary or noticed by me. Very happy with that! Not too many companies would take extra time out to do such things.

To sum up, the final product is so much more than we could of hoped for. It fits in perfectly with our house and is now the envy of all our friends. I am so glad I chose to deal with Aussie outdoor living, such a stress free and smooth experience.
We would definately recommend these guys to anyone who wants a quality outdoor living area. They have the know how, experience and great customer focus.

Thanks again Aussie outdoor living.
Marco & Bernadette.”

George & Natalie – West Pennant Hills

Our clients George & Natalie had just finished construction on their modern home. As you can see from the before pictures, there wasn’t much of an outdoor entertainment area. With the help and advise from our design consultants, we created an area that they would be proud of. Creating a seamless transition from the inside to out, and also allowing a covered walk way right along the pool. Because their home was rendered, the colours of the structure match the home and the existing guttering, almost like it was already a part of the home. With a modern and sophisticated finish, George and Natalie can enjoy many afternoons under their custom built Aussie Outdoor Living pergola.

Geoff & Kris – Cherrybrook

“At the beginning of this year my husband and I decided that we would do a major outdoor renovation. Our pool needed work, the old pavers on the terrace were looking tired and had sunk here and there and, in summer we couldn’t sit out there without frying! Once the decision had been made we went on the hunt for some expert advice.

Once we met Chris Riley of Aussie Outdoor Living our minds were made up. Chris is a true professional. He kept in contact with us, made us feel that our business was important to him and came up with a lovely design for our pergola. His team are a great bunch, always on time, friendly, professional and tidy. We knew we were dealing with a well oiled machine.

Our outdoor area is now finished and it is beyond our expectations. What a beautiful space we have now. We can now use our terrace year round and it has become our default family room. Our little grandsons think it is the best place ever to ride their scooters! What greater praise can you have. So thank you Chris, and Matt for your beautiful work. The fence is the icing on the cake. We’ll have more work for you in the near future. Kris and Geoff”

Martin & Clarissa – Cherrybrook

“We have recently undertaken a huge project which involves a complete overhaul of our entire backyard. Part of the project was to install a gabled pergola & double carport which Chris Riley & his team carried out. We are very, very happy & satisfied with the result of these two components. We are mostly impressed with the quality of workmanship & attention to detail Chris’ boys, have applied to the job. Not to mention their courteous & friendly manner & efficiency in completing the job so quickly.

While the entire project took about three months to complete, which became very stressful in the end, to say the least, Chris’ team only took two weeks to complete both the carport & pergola. Chris helped us immensely throughout the entire process; from the design stage, through to council application & approval, and finally to the completion. Chris also helped us a great deal by recommending other tradesmen to complete our project. Last but not least, Chris used a photo of our deck as the homepage for his company’s website, which absolutely thrilled us to bits & made us feel proud!

Thanks a million to Chris Riley & his team at Aussie Outdoor Living for becoming a part of this mammoth project & delivering such a fantastic product. We now have a stunning outdoor area which will provide us with years and years of enjoyment & happiness. Kind regards, Martin & Clarissa.”

John & Delysia – Dural

Chris Riley of Aussie Outdoor Living who we phoned, spoke to and within less than two hours was at our front door, very well presented, completely kitted out with an impressive heavy duty carrying case which contained a variety of building sample products.

Chris listened intently as we spoke, made notes, wandered outside our property, visualised what was possible and then carefully articulated how it would be achieved. It sounded wonderful, everything that we dreamt of and more; the biggest selling point was the aluminium deck that resembled a wooden deck! This was remarkable, no protruding nails or screws, no deck staining or on-going maintenance.

We then visited Chris’s showroom where we were able to touch and feel the products. The displays were neat and professionally presented. Throughout this phase, there was no hard sell approach from Chris. The ideas and products were presented for our consideration.

These building professionals were different; they arrived on time, respected our property, they were polite, cleaned up afterwards and neatly packed their materials away before leaving. This approach really impressed us. The excellent quality of their work was a reflection of their attitude; good, enthusiastic with an amazing attention to detail. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen building professionals work with such pride as a team.

The entire project, which included the drawing up of plans, council submission, DA approval etc. was expertly handled by Chris Riley and his colleagues. We were kept informed at every step of the project and did very little except arranging payments at the end of each scheduled phase.

We are entirely satisfied with the work that Chris and his team delivered. We have no hesitation in recommending Chris and his team to any prospective client considering practical outdoor home improvements professionally built for the long term. John & Delysia”
