Outdoor Blinds
Close the space off, or open it right up
We measure, make and fit outdoor blinds across Sydney’s Hills District, Hawkesbury and North Shore — from Dural and Kellyville through to Hornsby, Wahroonga and Pymble.
A covered patio is only half a room until you can do something about the wind. Outdoor blinds are what turn it into somewhere you’ll actually sit in August — and roll away completely when you don’t need them.
Ours are guided at the edges rather than left to swing loose, so they hold their shape in wind instead of flapping and wearing at the seams. Widths run to 7m on the heavy-duty frame, which usually means one blind where you’d otherwise need two and a post between them.
How much do you want to see?
The fabric is the decision that changes how the space feels. Every one is a 2×2 PVC-coated polyester mesh; what varies is how open the weave is:
- 6% openness — 94% shade. The most open weave: keeps the breeze moving and the view almost untouched.
- 5% openness — 95% shade, and the widest colour choice by a distance.
- 1% openness — 99% shade. Much more privacy, still a mesh rather than a wall.
- Blockout — 100% shade, no openness at all. Full privacy and the most complete seal against weather.
Sit under a 5% mesh and you can still read the far side of the garden. Sit under a blockout and you’ve effectively added a wall you can put away.
Rust-free and low-maintenance
The hardware is aluminium and stainless — there’s nothing in the system that rusts, which matters on a coastal or poolside job. The fabric wipes down; it doesn’t need oiling, sealing or taking down for winter.
Compare
How the blind is held at its edges decides how wide it can go and how well it seals. It's the choice that matters most, and it's usually made for you by the opening.
| Zip guide | Wire guide | Straight drop | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it's held | The fabric edge runs inside a side channel, sealed the full drop | The fabric runs on tensioned stainless wires | Drops free, held by a weighted bottom bar |
| Max width | 5.8m — or 7m on the heavy-duty frame | 5m — or 7m on the heavy-duty frame | 5m |
| Max drop | 3.4m to 5m, depending on headbox size | 3.4m to 5m, depending on headbox size | 3.4m to 4m |
| Max area | 14m² — 35m² on the heavy-duty frame | 13m² — 35m² on the heavy-duty frame | 13m² |
| Best for | Sealing a space properly against wind, rain and insects | A lighter look where a full seal isn't the point | Simple drops, or where there's nothing to fix a channel to |
Specifics
Most outdoor blinds look much the same in a photo. These are the differences you'll actually live with.
Spring, crank or motor
Three ways to drive them — a spring balance you pull down by hand, a geared crank handle, or a motor on a remote. Motorised is the one people wish they'd chosen on anything above head height.
Fire and UV rated
Every fabric is UV stabilised and fire-retardant treated to AS 1530.2 and AS/NZS 1530.3. The mesh range also carries Greenguard Gold certification for low chemical emissions.
Colours that match the roof
Fabrics come in Colorbond-matched shades — Monument, Basalt, Surfmist, Woodland Grey, Shale Grey, Windspray and Pale Eucalypt among them — so the blinds read as part of the building rather than something added to it.
Five-year warranty
Five years on the paint finish, the construction and the mesh fabric; two years on the rubber and plastic components.
