Step outside this North Kellyville home and the outdoor living area does the talking. Built on a sprawling sloping block, the site came with real constraints — multiple heights and levels to resolve — and we treated those as the opportunity rather than the obstacle.

The centrepiece is insulated roofing that balances shade and light, making the space usable right through the year rather than only in good weather. Beneath it sits a fully equipped outdoor BBQ kitchen with generous bench space, so entertaining happens outside instead of shuttling back to the indoor kitchen.

Aluminium decking runs through the area for a sleek finish that handles weather and traffic, and wide, inviting stairs step down from the deck to the lower level of the backyard — pulling the whole block together instead of leaving the lower yard stranded.
