Kevin & Jenny – Castle Hill
Polycarbonate Patio Pergola

“It was time to replace our existing pergola. Built in the 1990’s it was constructed with heavy timber beams with a mainly metal roof and brick piers from ground level supporting the roof beams. It was low, heavy, hot in summer and did not allow enough light through.

We had a few other builders to quote and we had Chris Riley. Chris listened to our needs and then came up with his suggestions. There was no hard sell just practical discussions on how we could achieve our aims. From this initial meeting Chris came back to us with the design and quote within a few days. We had already decided that if the design and quote met our expectations Aussie Outdoor Living would be our builder. It was obvious that with Chris leading the team this would be a company that we could comfortably work with. We were proved correct with our observation.

As part of our decision making we visited their showroom which is very well presented. This allowed us to understand the materials that would be used and view the final product in their displays. Chris’s design included removing the top section of our brick piers leaving only 1 metre from ground, capping with sandstone and then using twin 90mm black support posts from pier to beam. This, he said, would open up our garden. Brilliant! No other builder suggested this solution. Chris and his team think outside the square.

During construction Matt and the team were very professional, courteous, neat, tidy and respectful of our property. We were kept informed of the progress at all stages. The attention to detail during construction was amazing with the only object being an excellent finished product. From the time of signing the contract until construction start, Sydney was hit with a great deal of wet weather. We appreciated that this would delay our job. Were we left wondering? No. Aussie Outdoor were on the front foot advising us of their dilemma and setting a new start date. Very professional.

We are delighted with the finished product. We now have a light and bright outdoor entertaining area which we are sure will give us many years of pleasure. Thanks Chris and the team at Aussie Outdoor Living. We have no hesitation in recommending Chris and his team to any prospective client wishing to turn their outdoor area into something special.”

AUSSIE OUTDOOR LIVING'S PROCESS

1
Design
PHASE ONE

Design Consultation

During the design consultation, Chris will meet with you and discuss your outdoor living and entertaining plans. During this meeting Chris will undertake a site analysis to identify design solutions that capitalise on your homes strengths, opportunities, overcoming any area weaknesses and/or threats ie bushfire prone land. Chris will then brief you on possible design solutions and with your input will present a concept design. This concept design will then be presented in a detailed proposal with specifications and pricing for your perusal.
2
Approval
PHASE TWO

Council Approval

Many of our projects require some form of approval and we have made it super easy for our clients to navigate through this. We will introduce you to a leading specialist based in Castle Hill who will complete the entire approval process on your behalf. Depending on the type of approval, this could take up to 6 - 8 weeks or 3 - 4 months. If you have had any previous renovations completed on your home – we will request copies of approval documents, drawings, plans and surveys as these can be used to expedite the preliminary stages of the approval process.
3
Check Measure
PHASE THREE

Check Measure

Once the project has been Council approved (if it was required), Matt Tooke, our Construction Manager will arrange a final check measure of the project. Matt will ring to organise a time to come out and finalise details of your contracted works. Matt will go over the design, finalise the colours, check measurements and clarify any other aspects of your project. Once the check measure has been completed, the materials for your project will then be ordered, and your project will be placed in the construction calendar waiting to commence! Matt will advise an anticipated construction start date or approximate wait time before construction will commence.
4
Construction
PHASE FOUR

Start of Construction

Matt will call you when all materials are ready to confirm a start date. We will then appoint one of our expertly trained construction teams to your project. Materials will be delivered to your home and unloaded. The construction team will then start prepping the area. This may include demolishing and removing any existing structures. Taking their time, once the area if fully prepared - the team will start prepping beams and posts, dig out footings, start framework etc. Construction may take 4 days to 8 weeks, depending on the size of the project!
5
Completion
PHASE FIVE

Completion of Construction

Matt will communicate with you throughout the construction process. He will keep you closely updated as to when your new outdoor living and entertaining area will be completed. When our construction team have finished and any additional trades have also completed their finishing touches (eg electrician has finished installing new fans, lighting and motorised blinds) - the structure will be detailed and cleaned. It is also at this point that any remaining building debris and waste will be removed. We will not consider your project complete until Matt, the Construction Manager has conducted a final inspection. When Matt advises your works are complete – we will issue a final invoice and provide information on the “after-care” of your building structure.
